Tonkatsu là một món thịt chiên xù, giòn rụm của ẩm thực Nhật Bản rất ngon và hấp dẫn với thịt heo được bọc một lớp bột chiên bên ngoài thường dùng kèm nước sốt và bắp cải để làm tăng thêm hương vị. Thịt heo sau khi mua về rửa sạch, để ráo rồi cắt lát mỏng vừa. Ướp thịt với chút muối và tiêu đều mỗi mặt. Bột mì, bột chiên xù cho ra chén riêng. Trứng đập ra chén, đánh tan. Khi thịt thấm thì lần lượt lăn thịt qua bột mì rồi đến trứng gà và cuối cùng là bột chiên xù. Làm như vậy đến khi hết thịt. Cho dầu ăn vào chảo làm nóng, nhớ cho nhiều dầu dể ngập thịt nha. Khi dầu đã nóng thì thả thịt vào chiên, chỉ nên cho 1 - 2 miếng thịt vào thôi nhé.
Chiên đến khi thit chín vàng, giòn rụm cả hai mặt và thơm thì gắp ra để ráo dầu. Cắt thịt thành miếng vùa ăn. Bắp cải rửa sạch, xắt sợi. Cho bắp cải vào tô, rưới sốt mayonnaise lên, đặt thịt heo vừa chiên vào, rưới thêm sốt Tonkatsu nữa là hoàn thành.
